Engineering Apprenticeship Programme: Build Your Future with Müller
Our 4-year Engineering Apprenticeship Programme places you at the heart of one of our UK dairies, working alongside our expert Engineering team.
Throughout the programme, you’ll gain hands-on experience across key engineering functions—such as maintenance, services & utilities, and automation—and apply your learning with the support of a dedicated workplace mentor.
You’ll study towards a recognised Engineering qualification, earn a competitive salary, and develop the skills and confidence to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative industry.

What You’ll Do as an Engineering Apprentice
As part of our Engineering Apprenticeship Programme, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly and safely. Your responsibilities will include:
• Asset Management: Maintaining manufacturing machinery to ensure our filling and packing processes operate efficiently.
• Continuous Improvement: Getting involved in improvement projects and building your project management skills.
• Problem Solving: Identifying faults and taking swift action to uphold food safety standards and minimise downtime.
• Team Collaboration: Working alongside a dedicated team focused on delivering the highest quality products.
• Quality Assurance: Raising concerns and ensuring all products meet our strict standards and performance targets.
Your Training Journey: Engineering Apprenticeship at Müller
Training begins in September, marking the start of an exciting journey that blends technical training, academic study, and hands-on learning.
You’ll cover essential engineering topics, including:
• Electrical principles and maintenance
• Mechanical maintenance to keep our factories running smoothly
• Automation and modern manufacturing systems
Throughout the programme, you’ll be supported by a dedicated network of workplace mentors, academic coaches, and Müller engineering skills coaches—ensuring you have the guidance and encouragement to thrive.
In addition to working at one of our dairies, you’ll spend time with one of our expert training providers to deepen your knowledge and sharpen your skills. Depending on your location, this may involve:
• Residential stays on a block release structure
• Or day release training for up to four days a week

Our Manufacturing Academy Apprenticeships are available across all Müller sites UK sites
As a Manufacturing Apprentice, you’ll be part of our Manufacturing Academy, where you’ll build the skills to become a confident and capable Technical Operator. You’ll get stuck into real work from day one, including:
• Running production lines and operating machinery to keep things moving smoothly
• Spotting and solving problems—learning how to fix faults and keep everything on track
• Mastering food safety and hygiene so our products meet the highest standards
• Discovering the journey of ingredients—from delivery to finished product
• Working side-by-side with a supportive team, making products people love
You’ll learn by doing, with expert guidance and plenty of opportunities to grow. It’s the perfect way to start your career in manufacturing.
This apprenticeship is your launchpad into the world of food manufacturing. Here’s what’s in store:
• A nationally recognised Level 3 qualification in Food & Drink Technical Operations, delivered by the University of Lincoln. You’ll attend three block weeks of training each year—and we’ll cover your travel, accommodation, and living costs while you’re there.
• Hands-on experience in a fast-paced, real-world manufacturing environment where no two days are the same
• Practical skills in engineering, maintenance, health & safety, and more—everything you need to succeed

We’re looking for enthusiastic people who are ready to take the leap into a hands-on career. To apply, you’ll need to:
If you’re under 19, you’ll need to have GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Level 2 or above—that’s a grade 4 or C and above.
Don’t have them yet? No worries! You can still apply. We’ll support you with extra study sessions during your apprenticeship to help you reach the required level before your final assessment. We’re here to help you succeed—every step of the way.

L3 LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Laboratory Apprenticeship Programme: Discover the Science Behind Our Products
This 2-year Apprenticeship Programme is your chance to explore every aspect of our laboratory operations and build a career as a qualified Laboratory Technician.
Based at our state-of-the-art facility in Market Drayton, Shropshire, you’ll receive full training, development, and support to perform high-quality analysis on some of the UK’s most loved products—including Müller Corner, Müller Rice, and Müller Light.
Working to defined methods and procedures, you’ll produce accurate and timely analytical results that help ensure our products meet the highest standards.
This is more than just a job—it’s a hands-on opportunity to learn, grow, and make a real impact in the food industry.
During your apprenticeship, you’ll gain hands-on experience and build essential skills to thrive in a laboratory environment. You’ll learn how to:
• Decontaminate equipment and understand effective waste management procedures.

Our 3-year HGV Apprenticeship Programme is your chance to gain hands-on experience maintaining our fleet of heavy goods vehicles across multiple UK sites.
As an apprentice, you’ll receive full training, development, and support to become a qualified HGV Technician. You’ll learn how to inspect and maintain our vehicles to meet both legal and company standards—playing a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly.
Alongside your practical experience, you’ll study towards a recognised qualification, earn a highly competitive salary, and build valuable skills for a long-term career in automotive engineering.

As an apprentice in Müller Milk & Ingredients Distribution, you’ll gain practical, real-world experience maintaining our HGV fleet and supporting our busy workshops. You’ll learn how to:
• Inspect and maintain vehicles to meet legal and company standards
• Prepare HGVs for MOT testing and transport them to test centres
• Record vehicle defects and document minor accident repairs accurately
• Assist workshop teams in all aspects of HGV care and maintenance
• Maintain a safe and tidy workspace, following Health & Safety procedures to ensure a secure working environment
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be part of a skilled team, learning the foundations of vehicle maintenance and building a career in a fast-paced, high-impact industry.
Your training will be delivered through a blended approach, combining hands-on experience at your Müller site with block release training at S&B Automotive Academy in Bristol. Accommodation will be provided during your time in Bristol, ensuring you can focus fully on your learning.
Throughout the programme, you’ll be supported by your training provider and a dedicated workplace mentor—offering guidance, encouragement, and practical support. We’ll closely monitor your progress to ensure you meet all mandatory requirements, develop core skills, and demonstrate the occupational behaviours needed to succeed in your End Point Assessment.
By the end of the apprenticeship, you’ll be fully trained and ready to step into a suitable role within our business—with the potential to progress and gain your HGV Class 1 licence.
To apply for our HGV Technician Apprenticeship Programme, we prefer candidates who hold:
